　　A new play is once again renewing the popularity of Harry Potter and giving fans reasons to celebrate. "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" has now opened in London's West End, with tickets already sold out through next year. CRI's Victor Ning has more. Attending the play's premiere at London's Palace Theatre on Saturday, J. K. Rowling says she is happy to be brought back to the universe of Harry Potter. "Amazing! Wonderful! It's been a longtime since I've been at a "Potter" first night so it's special, very wonderful."

　　"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" is billed as the 8th installment of the Harry Potter series. It's a two-part stage drama, played over two nights. It picks up 19-years after the last book "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" ended. All grown up, the former child wizard is now an employee of the Ministry of Magic and a father of three. The play centers around Harry's relationship with his youngest son Albus. Created by Rowling and writer Jack Thorne, and directed by John Tiffany, the play is the first Potter story that has not been completely written by Rowling herself.

　　However, Rowling says the additional strain on her didn't stop her from enjoying herself during the creative process. "It's been one of the best creative experiences of my life. I can honestly say that. The three of us, we did it together and we worked very closely together and I trusted them completely.

　　You know I never would have let this happen if I hadn't known I was doing it with the right people." Tickets for the play have already sold out through December of 2017. This has prompted the play's promoter to put an additional 250-thousand tickets up for grabs next month due to the high demand."Harry, he's been here for so long for me. I was 11 when I started to love Harry Potter. And, I don't know, thanks to him I've done so much. Really, it's a book that changed my life. I just dream to open one day a Harry Potter restaurant. I've travelled so much thanks to the Harry Potter movie to see the landscape and that. And, I don't know, it's changed everything."

　　The play's rehearsal has also been released as a book this weekend, coinciding with Harry Potter's birthday this Sunday. Not surprisingly, the book already tops Amazon's Best Seller list. However, J. K. Rowling is also suggesting the play is going to be the end of Harry Potter's saga moving forward. "No. No, he goes on a very big journey during these two plays and then, yeah, I think we're done. This is the next generation, you know. So, I'm thrilled to see it realized so beautifully but, no, Harry is done now."

　　However, fans of the series need not fret, as the story-line isn't over. The film "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," a prequel to the Harry Potter series, is set for release later this year. Next year will mark the 20th anniversary of the release of the first Harry Potter book, with fans looking forward to a whole year of celebrations, and perhaps, some magic as well.
