　　5月28日，中国私人房地产开发商万达名下的大型娱乐中心万达城在江西南昌开幕。据了解，万达城功能齐全，包含了耗资8亿美金建成的主题公园，配有电影院的室内购物商城，饭店，酒店，以及世界上最大的海洋公园。

　　Chinese private property developer Wanda opened a massive entertainment complex in the city of Nanchang in east China's Jiangxi Province on May 28th, 2016. It includes an 800 million US dollar theme park, an indoor shopping mall with theaters, restaurants, hotels and the world's largest ocean park.

　　耗资数十亿的上海迪士尼乐园将于6月正式开幕。身为万达集团创始人兼董事长的王健林先生表示，万达城是对迪士尼文化入侵中国的最好反击。近日，王健林先生在接受中国中央电视台的采访中也曾表示，上海迪士尼度假区过于依赖米老鼠与唐老鸭等过时的知识产权，缺乏新的创意，并且成本过高。

　　According to the group's founder and Chair Wang Jianlin, it is China's answer to Disney, which is opening its multi-billion-dollar theme park in Shanghai in July. A few days ago, Wang said in an interview with China Central Television (CCTV) that Shanghai Disney Resort relied too much on out-of-date intellectual property such as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, lacked anything new and had cost too much.

　　上海迪士尼度假区将于6月16日正式开幕。此前，为期6周的试运营已于5月7日开始。试运营的前两周，上海迪士尼接待了大约96万的游客。然而，游客普遍反映，人太多、食物太贵。

　　Shanghai Disney Resort will welcome its first official guests on June 16 and it began its six-week pre-opening series of trial operations on May 7. Around 960,000 people visited in the first two weeks. During the trial operation, however, visitors have voiced complaints - too crowded and the food is too expensive.

　　For example, a turkey leg costs 55 yuan (8.4 US dollars) and one cookie charges 25 yuan (3.8 US dollars). Two bowls of noodles, one cup of coke and one basket of pork buns cost 180 yuan (28 US dollars). They usually charge less than 100 yuan (15 US dollars) in total at an ordinary Chinese restaurant.

　　上海迪士尼的非高峰期入园票为370元，高峰期入园票为499元。相比于万达城198元的工作日入园票与248元的周末及节假日入园票，上海迪士尼的入园票价格显然贵了许多。

　　And an entry ticket for Shanghai Disneyland, cost 370 yuan (56 US dollars) for non-peak periods and 499 yuan (76 US dollars) for peak periods, which is much more expensive than ticket to Wanda City – costing 198 yuan (30 US dollars) during weekdays and 248 yuan (38 US dollars) during weekends and holidays.

　　迪士尼的特色是流行的卡通人物，万达城却不一样。王健林先生说，万达城会根据中国消费者制定特色。作为娱乐消遣中心，万达城配备了度假酒店，14个放映厅，50家提供中外料理的餐厅，以及专门为成人提供的夜店。

　　Unlike Disneyland which features its popular cartoon characters, Wang Jianlin said they've planned the development specifically to suit Chinese customers. The Wanda City is an amusement park with a resort hotel, along with 14 movie screens, 50 restaurants serving local and international cuisines and even a nightclub for adults.

　　在万达城，游客能够在互动电影院体验与3D怪兽的战役，以及乘坐飞行模拟器飞跃江西省，俯瞰江西省壮丽的风景。除此之外，室外主题公园占地80公顷，拥有50座娱乐设施。其中包括中国传统文化表演和4D电影，例如以竹子为主体的奇幻剧和以历史悠久的瓷器文化为主题的4D电影。

　　Visitors can also participate in a battle against 3D monsters in an interactive cinema complex, or fly through Jiangxi Province in a flight simulator. The outdoor theme park covers 80 hectares, and involves some 50 entertainment facilities – they include performances highlighting Chinese traditions like bamboo-themed fantasy shows and a 4D show about China's porcelain culture dating back centuries.

　　万达城计划建设中国最快，最高和最长的过山车。在南昌万达城项目之后，万达集团计划未来三年内在中国建设至少6座主题公园。到2020年，万达旗下的主题公园将达到15座。

　　Wanda City also claims to be the home of China's fastest, highest and longest roller coaster. After the site in Nanchang, Wanda plans to open six more theme parks in China within three years and plans to have around 15 in the country by 2020.

　　在上周六的开幕式上，王健林先生表示“好虎架不住群狼”，并批评迪士尼“克隆以前的产品，没有更多的创新”。

　　"A tiger cannot take on a pack of wolves," Wang Jianlin said on Saturday, criticizing Disney as "cloning past accomplishments without innovating".

　　Dalian Wanda Group, a leading commercial real estate developer in China, is not entirely new to entertainment. It purchased the AMC Theatre chain in the United States in 2012 for 2.5 billion US dollars. Earlier this year, it spent 3.5 billion US dollars to buy Hollywood film production studio Legendary Entertainment. The group has also been branching out into film production, print media and art investment.
