　　The only problem is that so very many tourists hit up all the same, popular sights on the continent. You have to shuffle and elbow your way through crowds to see just about anything you've heard of. But there's so much more to Europe than what's in all the travel guides. There are plenty of hidden gems off the beaten track. Here are just a few of them.

　　1. 辛特拉 [葡萄牙]Sintra, Portugal

　　When you picture a quaint, charming English village, you probably picture something like Bibury — or you do now. If it weren't for the cars, you'd think you had traveled back in time.

　　This mountain village features some of the best-preserved medieval architecture in all of Europe, and its unique beauty led the Spanish government to name Albarracin a national monument in 1961.
