　　在广西的大山深处，有这么一群女人：

　　衣着鲜丽，笑如银铃，丝毫没有畏惧陌生的羞怯。大山赋予了她们活泼奔放的天性。长发如盘，乌亮如漆。即使面部爬满了岁月的沟壑，乌发依旧。这群女人，叫做红瑶女。因为她们，才造就了黄珞瑶天下第一长发村的美誉。

　　广西壮族自治区黄洛瑶寨的瑶族妇女在梳头。

　　Women of Yao ethnic group comb their hair in Huangluo village, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

　　这个村是广西桂林龙脊的黄洛瑶寨，这里被誉为“天下长发第一村”。黄洛瑶寨居住的是瑶族一个支系——红瑶，因其以红色为最美，喜穿红色服饰而得名。寨子里居住着清一色的红瑶，全部姓潘。红瑶寨里的120多名成年妇女中，有80多名的头发在1.4米以上，最长的长达1.8米，2002年获得上海大世界吉尼斯总部颁发的“群体长发女之最”的证书，从而扬名天下。

　　Huangluo village in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region is home to descendants of the Yao ethnicity. The women here are characterized by their red embroidered dress and their long hair, which is long enough to have their home recognized as the "world's longest hair village" by Guinness World Records.

　　据当地人说，保持秀发又长乌黑亮丽的秘诀就是用清糯米的水洗头。

　　The secret to keeping one's hair long, shiny and away from grey hair is to wash hair with water used to clean glutinous rice.

　　村民介绍，"从出生起我们就从不剪头发。当18岁时，我们把第一次理发作为成人的仪式，表示的这个女孩成为了成年人可以嫁人了。在仪式上剪的头发会被保留下来。在结婚和生育后，这部分头发就会梳成发髻戴在头上，作为区分已婚和未婚的标志。"

　　"We do not cut our hair from birth. When we reach the age of 18, we get our first haircut as part of a coming-of-age ceremony, which signifies that the girl is now an adult and can marry. The hair cut off at the ceremony is not to be thrown away, but preserved. After marriage and childbirth, this section of the hair is weaved and worn in the form of a hairpin so to speak, as a distinction between married and unmarried women," villager said.
