　　Gilles Sierro, professional skier, a daredevil skier descending the near-vertical Dent Blanche peak in the Swiss Alps for the first time in history.

　　瑞士职业滑雪者吉尔·谢罗面对阿尔卑斯山最高峰之一的丹特·布朗什峰毫不畏惧，在几乎垂直的北壁上完成极限滑雪挑战。吉尔也因此成为了挑战阿尔卑斯山垂直滑雪的第一人。

　　The jaw-dropping images show Swiss skier Gilles Sierro climbing to get to the top of the radical slope before launching himself in a heart-stopping descent.

　　这些令人瞠目结舌的图片展示了吉尔·谢罗在惊心动魄的垂直滑雪挑战前的攀爬登顶准备。

　　He knows the itinerary and defiantly climbs the slope exactly where he will ski down later, checking the snow quality, marking hidden rocks and getting ready for the descent.

　　吉尔了解滑下的雪道并接受这一挑战，在他攀登顶峰的过程中，他也在检测雪质，标志雪下隐藏的石块，以保证自己可以安全的完成这一极限挑战。

　　With its sixty degree angle and 600 metres, the east face is a desperately difficult slope to navigate, even for a seasoned professional skier like Sierro.

　　丹特·布朗什峰是60°的陡峰，高度约600米，东面的陡坡很难找方向前行，就算对于吉尔这样的职业滑雪运动员也是。

　　The endeavour took place in April 2015 and was captured by professional photographer David Carlier, a Switzerland-based 43-year-old filmmaker who specialises in adventure and action sports imagery.

　　2015年4月吉尔完成了这一壮举，由43岁的专业摄影师大卫·卡里尔负责摄影工作，大卫是此类极限运动的专业摄影师。

　　He said: ’It was an incredible feat to witness and an honour to team up with such a well-respected steep skiing specialist.’

　　With its 4,357 metres (14,295 ft)-high summit, the Dent Blanche is one of the highest peaks in the Alps.

　　Its west ridge was named Arête des Quatre Anes or Viereselsgrat (Ridge of the Four Asses) following a dangerous 12 hours climbing in 1882 by John Stafford Anderson and G.P. Baker, with guides Alois Pollinger and Ulrich Almer, after the ridge was opened.

　　其西山脊叫作Arête des Quatre Anes or Viereselsgrat，在开通后，1882年，曾有滑雪者约翰·斯塔福德·安德森和贝克由向导阿洛伊斯和阿尔莫引导 ，在该峰攀爬12小时。
